South Charlotte 13u Softball

Program Description

South Charlotte Recreation Association provides 13U Modified Coach Pitch as an introductory-level program for our younger players. Players should be 11, 12 or 13 years old as of December 31, 2024.

Registration Fee: $295

Equipment

Uniforms: SCRA provides jersey, socks and belt. Pants are be purchased on your own your coach will tell you what color your team has selected.

Required equipment: Softball glove, softball bat, batting helmet (with cage), and fielding face-mask.

Recommended equipment: Rubber cleats. Metal cleats are not allowed.

13u Overview

Primary Ages	11, 12 or 13 Years Old
Goals/Rules	Learn Fastpitch rules, base running & stealing and dropped third strike. Developing more advanced pitching and catching skills. 2 game 7 inning limit per pitcher
Base Distance	60 Feet
Pitching Distance	40 Feet
Ball Size	12 inch softball
Game Time Limits	1 Hour 30 Minutes
Home/Practice Field	Olde Providence Elementary School

Season

If there are enough players to form more than one team, teams will be formed following player evaluations. Spring practices begin in mid February with the Spring season ending tournament finishing in early June. Fall practices begin mid-August with the Fall season ending tournament finishing in early November. 13U and older weekday games begin at 7:30pm. Weekend games are all played during the day mostly on Saturdays. All teams have 10 regular season games and participate in a post-season tournament.
